This week we had to wathc the video Adventures in Online Pedagogy (Jim Sullivan and Lisa M Lane, 2010) or the slidescast made based on this video. I chose the slidecast and I think it was really good to review all the evolution we experienced in not many years from intructivisim / behaviorisim to the last stage: conectivisim. I was growing in a educational system based in the first stage that just in the end of my formal education at the university turn into the constructivism way to learn and teach, but I did not experienced the way of conectivisim until a few years ago.I think we have to take the best of this different theories about how to face the learning and teaching process and put them into action in our classroom, it does not matter if it is a virtual or a presential classroom.
About the article of George Siemens, Networks, Ecologies, and Curatorial Teaching (2007) it was very clarifying his definition about conectivisim: "the act of learning as a network formation process" and his points about ecologies and curatorial teaching and I feel that in so many details of this theory of conectivisim we are not able to be aware about all the changes that the technologies plus the social and information society in our lives and in our brains and of course classes, courses, learning and teaching processes.
In the articleof Larry Sanger, Individual Knowledge in the Internet Age (2010) I have to say that this article make me think a lot about the kind of revolution that technology is doing in our ways to think, act and live. Memorization, reasoning, critical thinking, analysis... all of them and more are processes that we need to learn, to work and improve, and the education has to be able to teach them now more than ever before because we have lots and lots of information, lots and lots of different channels, services and devices to find more and more information but the reality is that we are more and more dependent on those channels, services, devices.... and less owners of our proper thinking, proper acting, and proper life.... We have to find the balance between to connect with others and learn together and learn by ourselves, believe and make us stronger and less dependent of things and people. We can build knowledge together, but also alone and we should learn how to do it in both ways.
About the article of Lisa Marie Blaschke, A review of heutagogical practice and self-determined learning(2012) Wow I have never heard the word Heutagogy but I like very much its scaffolding way to structure the learning and teaching process and the way to let the student participate in all the whole process. I also can not be more agree with the affirmation of Lisa Marie that Heutagogy is a really good theory to cover all the needs of the student in a distance education.
